I've made some progress since the last entry! I have gathered about 54 recipes for my book and most are original. Now, original can also mean that one ingredient has been omitted or left out. They are all favorites and have stood the test of time. I'm sure there will be more but at least it's a start!
The next step will be to put them in categories, not so much meat, dessert, salad, etc, but into areas of inspiration. Who or what inspired me to develop or experiment with these tasty recipes. Some have been actual meals at certain restaurant or celebrations. I'd come home and try to duplicate them with a great degree of success. To me it's very easy to "pick apart" a dish and figure out the actual ingredients. Sometimes, even a bad meal would inspire me to make it much better.
Hopefully I won't bore the reader but with pictures of the dish or place of origin, I believe it will be a noteworthy compilation. The "meat" of the book will be the stories behind each creation. Tonight we had the fritatta along with a Sausage/pinenut orzo. Delicious!!

Getting Ready to get ready
So, I'm getting ready to get ready which only means that I am getting closer to writing my memoir type family cookbook. I have to admit I am quite the procrastinator. But just being here is the first step of many that I will travel.
Speaking of travel, and I love that subject best, I am in the middle of planning a trip to Costa Rica with some dear friends. It is a joy to do it because I always learn so much about a country first before I even set foot off the plane. Our original plans were to go to Spain. However, the euro was not cooperating, so plan B was Costa Rica. I felt a little disappointment but as I started to research our trip I became more and more excited about experiencing the "getting close to nature" trip.
I will keep you posted on my progress and plans.
